Youth ADHD Symptoms
Teens with ADHD show signs of inattention, hyperactivity, and/or impulsivity in specific ways. Some examples of this include:
- Lack of focus/day dreamer

- Being in constant motion
- Constant squirming or fidgeting
- Frequently making careless mistakes
- Having difficulty playing quietly
- Talking excessively
- Interrupting others
- Becoming easily distracted
- Not finishing tasks
The symptoms of ADHD can vary for boys and girls. For example, boys are more likely to be primarily hyperactive, whereas girls tend to be quietly inattentive. Girls who have trouble paying attention often daydream, but inattentive boys are more likely to play or fiddle aimlessly.
Signs of ADHD with Aggression or Impulsivity
In addition to some of the symptoms mentioned above, some adolescent may also have the inability to control their aggression or impulses. Here are some of the signs:
- Loses temper

- Argues with Adults
- Actively defies adult’s request or rules
- Deliberately annoys people
- Blames others for misbehavior
- Easily annoyed by others
- Often angry or resentful
- Often spiteful and vindictive
